Arabian sensations

Basking in the highest of grand luxury, with DORMA wherever you look

New landmark: The Fairmont Dubai

A new 36-storey building - a hotel, residential and office complex - spectacularly dominates the skyline of Dubai. The design of architects Khatib & Alami is reminiscent of a Barajeel, the traditional Arabian wind tower. It features a curtain wall façade and is clad with Portuguese rosa porino granite. And five kilometres of neon tubes plus 136 light prisms illuminate the tower with a display of 1,001 colours.

Prominent Features

The highest international standard is de rigueur for everything from design and construction to the interior decor. So the decision in favour of DORMA door systems and technology was "automatic": The range encompasses automatic KTC revolving doors - the main entrance measures 4.2m in diameter and offers an impressive array of polished stainless steel fixtures; CS compact sliding door operators; concealed ITS 96 EMF overhead door closers at 32 positions; ED 200 automatic operators for the large and heavy doors of the office section; EL 300 automatic operators from DORMA BWN Automatics, Australia, e.g. at the apartment entrances; and fittings and accessories from DORMA-Glas - not to mention the sealing systems from GRAL for the shower units numbering in excess of 400.
